Not your “normal” acting class

What’s unique about us is – “we’re not normal” – as far as acting classes go. In one 3 hour class, you can expect to be working MOST of the time (NOT sitting and waiting…ugh!!) You will be exposed to in-depth mastery of Dramatic Improvisation and Script work for both stage and film. You will develop an Acting Instrument that can do virtually “anything”, with ease and confidence.

Granted everyone has their own pace of learning, but we’re confident we can get you “there”. We’re interested in getting results and moving you forward efficiently while teaching you to embrace the process of art and life. This attitude creates a dynamic and infinite discovery process that adds soulful dimension to you both as an artist and person. And that’s one huge piece of our philosophy: “When I move in my Life, I move in my Art. And when I move in my Art, I move in my LIFE.”

When your heart opens, so do possibilities in your life

“It has also helped me see how roles played in real life can be dropped cleanly just as they are in class. Switching roles, after going “to neutral” in class is akin to taking a pause before assuming a new role in my real life. And this is refreshing.”

Jim Barrett

“The classes are a lot of fun, the community is non-judgmental, accepting, supportive and encouraging of each other. It’s a chance to get out of my head, experience parts of myself that I might not ordinarily access, to communicate totally uncensored and to be comfortable with all kinds of feelings.”

Marina Maurino

“Since coming to Open Door Acting in 2009 I have grown tremendously as an actor and as a human being. I have learned to be more fully self-expressive in my life. Both teachers Carl Stillitano and Erin Flowers come from a place of true caring with their teaching approach. Both are 100% committed to the personal growth of their students…”
